Diguel Ngobo is Water4Chad’s 134th borehole. This neighborhood in N’Djamena, the capital, embodies a cruel paradox: living in a capital city and having no access to clean water. The residents of Diguel Ngobo knew the same suffering as the most isolated villages — disease, endless queues, the unbearable cost of water.
When Mahamat Moussa, founder of Water4Chad, inaugurated this well, he took a moment to look at the road traveled. Since 2016, his NGO has transformed the lives of tens of thousands of Chadians, village after village, neighborhood after neighborhood. But he knows the work is far from over.
“Every well reminds me why I started,” he said. “And every village without water reminds me why I can’t stop.”
