A Water Tower in Djedaa, Batha, Chad Brings Clean Water to 2,500 People

In the heart of the Batha region of Chad, the village of Djedaa was struggling with severe water scarcity for years. Women and children often walked several kilometers each day to fetch water from unsafe sources, exposing them to waterborne diseases and physical hardship.

In response to this critical need, Water4Chad recently completed the construction of a water tower in Djedaa. This significant infrastructure project now provides clean and safe drinking water to over 2,500 residents.

The water tower includes:

  • A high-capacity storage tank
  • Solar-powered pumping systems
  • A reliable distribution network with multiple water access points across the village

This project not only improves access to clean water but also reduces the burden on women and girls, allowing them to invest more time in education, family, and economic activities.

During the project, our technical teams also conducted water quality testing to ensure the water is safe for consumption. This water tower is a sustainable solution, designed with community involvement to ensure long-term maintenance.

This success story in Djedaa demonstrates Water4Chad’s ongoing commitment to delivering sustainable water solutions in Chad’s most underserved regions.

Help us continue bringing clean water to more communities across Chad.
